Most bands rehearse in one place and record somewhere else. At Black Cactus you can do both under one roof, just off the A12 on the edge of Colchester. It's a quick drive from Ipswich, Clacton and Harwich.
What's in every rehearsal room
- Full PA with 2 vocal mics, leads, stands and DI boxes
- Mapex drum kit with shells, hardware, snares and cymbals (bring your own sticks)
- Ampeg bass cab
- Marshall stack and Vox combo for guitars
- Acoustic treatment throughout
Rooms are £12 an hour, or £15 an hour for The Large Black Room. Free parking is onsite, and fresh coffee, tea, soft drinks and snacks are on us.
Book online
You can now book a rehearsal online for evening sessions, or call and message us for other times.
When you're ready to record
The studio is right there. A studio day gives you the live rooms, control room, equipment and an engineer for the whole session. We don't do one-size-fits-all pricing. Tell us what you're after and we'll work within your budget.
Rehearsing the songs here first means you walk into the recording already comfortable in the room. That makes for better takes.
